About General Chiropractic

Q What is general chiropractic?

General chiropractic looks at optimizing the function of the spine of adolescents, adults elderly and special groups like pregnant and lactating mums. We use a variety of techniques incorporating massage and traditional chiropractic techniques like manipulation/adjustment in a customized management plan.

Q What are the health benefits of general chiropractic?

Most clients come in to reduce back or neck pain and headaches. We help lessen pain naturally but go a further step by rehabilitating the spine with a combination of a flexibility and strengthening program. We find that clients who comply with our recommendations have improvement in their overall level of health and well-being and perform better with daily activities.

Some other common conditions and symptoms that chiropractic can help with include; tendonitis / tennis elbow, Shoulder rotator cuff conditions, knee and ankle pain, carpal tunnel, pins and needles, ,migraines and thoracic outlet syndrome.

Q How long do I need treatment?

Treatment duration will vary. After the first consultation you will know the ballpark of how long you will need to be seen at the centre. A review would be completed after one month of management.

Q How much does it cost and for how long am I seen?

Initial consultation is $65 and we will see you for 30 minutes. The initial consultation includes a complete history, neurological, orthopaedic and chiropractic examination. If x-rays are required they are bulk-billed at a nearby radiology clinic. Subsequent consultations is $45. Concession prices do apply.

Q Will health insurance cover me?

Most health funds recognise chiropractic in their extras cover. The new medicare allied health item means for suitable patients they would be out of pocket for $20 for up to the first five consultations, if an enhanced care plan recommending this schedule is written by the GP. This medicare benefit only applies for complex, chronic spinal cases.
